The 1782 Guild was the last traditional Guild celebration before the cotton industry dominated Preston life.

The Guild of 1782 was very grand event with lots of different kinds of entertainment. There was horse racing on Fulwood Moor and Preston Moor (now Moor Park). For a whole week dances and balls were held each night.
