1882 Preston Guild

By 1882 Preston had recovered from the crisis of the Cotton Famine.
The textile industries of the town were entering their last great period
of prosperity and growth. The Guild of 1882 celebrated Preston's strength
and world-wide importance as a cotton town. The Horrockses company was
prominent in these celebrations.
