1846 Horrockses. Miller and Company is established

Thomas Miller

When Samuel Horrocks, junior, died in 1846, Thomas Miller, junior, became chief partner in the firm. Thomas Miller ran the company until his death in 1865. During this period the Great Lockout and Cotton Famine took place. When Thomas Miller died in 1865, Edward Hermon became chief partner until his death in 1881.
