Moodle themes and design – options for schools

The way your school Moodle looks can be a very important factor to the end user and it’s vital that the appearance is attractive.

The look and feel of your school Moodle can be adapted to match your own schools colours and logo. The way your Moodle looks is called a “Theme”. Schools have several options to make their school Moodle look more attractive:

  • Option one - The school can choose one of Moodle’s standard default themes by going to the Theme Selector in the Site Administration block on the Front Page.

  • Option two - Primary schools can select one of the specially 6 primary designed themes  where some adjustments can be made to accommodate your school logo and colours. Get some idea of  options below and then click here where you will be able to make final choices using an online selection form.

Once you have sumbitted the online form your theme will be created and applied to your school Moodle. This may take up to 2 weeks.

  • Option 3 - The school can provide a logo, and photograph if required, and a banner will be designed for your Moodle in accordance with your school colours. Please email office@cleo.net.uk with requirements.

All the above options are provided free of charge to schools as part of the Moodle VLE Service offered by CLEO.

If your school has very specific requirements and wishes to have a fully bespoke Moodle theme designed then this can be arranged  in conjunction with a Moodle partner with whom we have worked very closely.

Please note however that for this bespoke design service there will be a charge to the school. For further details please contact the CLEO Project Office on 0845 053 0035.
