Caching web content with your new Network Edge DeviceYour new Network Edge device automatically stores web content that any user within the school has visited. By automatically storing pages visited, any other users to that page, will be able to see a locally cached version of the content, without having to go back over the internet. For example if a class of pupils go and visit a website. The first pupil will go over the internet and the content will be stored locally on your Network Edge device. The second and subsequent pupil will see the cached version.
This process makes the users experience more efficient on the internet and reduces the traffic over your broadband connection.

As new websites are cached to the box older sites, that are not being used will automatically be deleted from the cache.
In order to ensure that a website you need is available on the cache box, cache your site a couple of days before you intend to use it. This can be achieved by browsing all the website pages you need beforehand, or by setting up pre-caching profile, which will automate this process for you, and regularly check for new web pages
